Trust me. It’s not just you.

You may have noticed that the world is a little crazy right now and you might be feeling a little—let’s just say not quite your usual self.

Maybe you’re feeling vaguely restless and uneasy and having a hard time focusing. Maybe you’ve reached the point where your hands are shaking, you can feel your heart racing, and your stomach feels like a flock of oversized butterflies are taking tap dancing lessons in there. Or maybe you’re not consciously aware of feeling anxious but are experiencing sleep difficulties. Or a chronic immune illness is flaring or you’re having frequent headaches.

Please know that you are not alone. Whether anxiety has been your constant companion for years, or whether it’s something new for you, it’s about as widespread right now as the pandemic and the election news.

But you know what? Anxiety doesn’t get to be the boss of you! Science is proving over and over again that with a little practice, (as little as 15 minutes a day) we can actually rewire our brains to be calmer and more focused. The days of breathing into a paper bag are over.

Here’s some good news and some bad news about anxiety (but absolutely no fake news)

  •  Good news! There are a number of simple, highly effective ways to contain, reduce, or even dissolve anxiety that you can practice in the comfort of your own home. (Or, you know, with your Breath of Sanity team)

  •  Bad news! Even when we know these techniques and modalities, when we’re feeling anxious we might not feel motivated to use the techniques that work even though we know they will make us feel better. (I may or may not be speaking from experience here)

  •  Good news again! We can reshape our brains and develop new habits, and this is easier when we do it together, sort of like having an exercise buddy

  • And bad news – most often, any anxiety buddy you have is going to be somebody who increases your stress rather than decreasing it. Have you ever noticed that anxiety is contagious? If you spend time talking to somebody about all the things they are stressed and anxious about, it makes you start feeling anxious too.

Six Weeks to Calm and Focus

So the really good news (no more bad news) is that I’m offering a six week class that will provide the knowledge, skills, practice, motivation, and support you need to retrain your brain to be calmer and more focused, even if the world around you is spinning out of control. We’ll learn about the anxiety loop and how it plays out in our brains and our bodies. We’ll learn how to interrupt that loop and begin literally changing our brains and programming them for calm and focus. All in a lighthearted, non-threatening format that you can do in fifteen minutes a day.

Here’s how it works. Every week I’ll email you information and activities to help you take a look at the type of thoughts you might be having and the ways you are experiencing anxiety in your body. I’ll also introduce a simple, feel good, anxiety busting technique. And you’ll get journal prompts to help you take the work deeper. On Tuesday, you’ll have the opportunity to meet live with a supportive community and to ask all your questions (no worries if you can’t make it—all practice sessions will be recorded and available to view on your own).  All week you’ll have access to me and support from other participants in a private Facebook group where you can ask your questions and share your breakthroughs.

More good news! You will work through the class on your own time frame, so there is no pressure, ever. No getting behind or feeling overwhelmed. Imagine the irony of being anxious about not making it to your anxiety class!

This Class May Not Be For You if…

  • you have tried and hated all forms of meditation, mindfulness, purposeful breathing, journaling, and meridian tapping and really do not like to laugh

  • you want to work really really hard and spend hours on class materials—because this class is designed to help you change your brain in fifteen minutes a day

  • you just want a magic wand to make it all go away and aren’t ready to actually change anything about how you think or feel or interact with the world

  • you’re dealing with complex post traumatic stress or severe anxiety. In these cases, while you will still gain benefits from this class, I strongly recommend also working with a professional therapist who can individualize a treatment plan to your needs. You deserve this care and it can make an incredible difference. I highly recommend that you seek out somebody who uses one of the following modalities: mindfulness, EMDR, hypnotherapy, or tapping, in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy

  • you are under eighteen—in which case, get a parent to sign up and do the work with you and everybody wins

Sounds Good, but How Much Will This Cost Me?

More good news! Right now, I’m offering the class for just $49 in exchange for feedback and suggestions from you! You not only get the benefit of the stress and anxiety dissolving techniques I’ll be teaching for just a smidge over a dollar a day (which is way less than a cup of coffee), you get to go down in history as the person who helped me make a good class fantastic. In the future this offering will cost $199, so that’s approximately a 75% discount.

Here’s what Qualifies Me to Teach This Class

Yep, I’m a writer. I’m also a licensed mental health professional and a retired RN. I’m also a Master Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coach and I love teaching writers how to change their mindset to level up in their writing lives. Plus, everything I’m teaching is a technique that I practice myself.

Still Not Sure?

Would it help if I told you I have a no risk money back policy? If you sign up, work through the first week of the course and feel like it’s not going to work for you, I will refund all of your money. If you’re not happy, I’m not happy.
